Abstract

ROJAS, Hugo A. APPLYING A CORELATION MODEL AMONG THE VARIABLES TEMPERATURE, DENSITY AND DISSOLVED OXYGEN IN THE THERMOCLINE IDENTIFICATION IN A THERMIC STRATIFICATION. Rep. cient. FACEN [online]. 2010, vol.1, n.2, pp.2-14. ISSN 2222-145X.

This work has the end to study the quality of the water in the Yacyretá dam to habergeon 76, in which does to the thermal stratification, by means of the study of but of 600 profiles of oxygen dissolved vs. temperature, from April/1994 to April/2006 the profiles were developed in five stations of the main course and between the years 1996-1997, in the sub-dam Aguapey and Yacarey. The temperature and the concentration of oxygen dissolved measured to him each meter, from the 0.50 to 0.50 m before the sediment. The data are treated in an Excel matrix elaborate, by correlating the temperature of the water and the dissolved oxygen (mg/l), % of absolute and relative saturation, the pressure and the density of the water. The results of the matrix are graphic, by grouping dissolved temperature and density, oxygen in % of absolute and relative saturation, to different depths. The closing of the dam meant discharge of organic matter and oxidation processes-stabilization, considering result the consumption of oxygen in the lower stratums that never was very big or persistent. In the valleys of flood they give more intense deflections of oxygen, with prompt replacement towards more favorable values. In the main course, the oxygen remains constant or with increments in tenths with the depth. The temperature is the major of the Isothermal times and in other decreases some tenths in the first meters, remaining then with a same value until the bottom. In the months of summer, had increments in the temperature, due to the heating of the water in the superficial cloak, given for the solar direct, own incidence of the time and of the hour of the measurement, by producing the immediate cooling, in some tenths, in the more deep cloaks. The Pto.Valley station, it is she who recurrent presented the major thermal gradient, as also the maximum stocking temperature of the column, generally in the hot months, between October and January, giving the maximum thermal difference, of 3.0 and 4.5 °C, measured in thirteen meters, repeating that characteristic with annual periodicity. On the other hand, in the center of the lake the station Jesuits canal, the development of the profile was more stable, with little thermal difference from the surface to the button, resulting Isothermal the major of the times. It is possible to affirm that not gave to him the conditions for the formation of the thermal stratification in the dam. It has not made evident any substantial difference in the thermal gradient, that it suggests formation of termoclina, although if in form very labile, in the Sub it dams throw-ins, with quick answer towards the production of a better form.
