Abstract
SANCHEZ BAEZ, Edgar A. and SANABRIA, Diego Daniel. Degree of novelty in product/service improvements in paraguayan smes: impact of innovation determinants. Poblac.Desarro. [online]. 2021, vol.27, n.53, pp.29-41. ISSN 2076-054X. https://doi.org/10.18004/pdfce/2076-054x/2021.027.53.029.
This paper studies the factors that determine product innovation in SMEs in Paraguay and analyzes the impact of these determinants according to their degree of novelty of the innovations. For this purpose, a survey of 408 SME entrepreneurs was conducted in 2018, as part of the PINV15-137 Project financed by CONACYT. Three dimensions of analysis were identified: personal characteristics, organizational characteristics and environmental factors. The results show the following conclusions: on the one hand, they demonstrate that the decision to carry out product innovations in Paraguayan SMEs is conditioned by variables corresponding to the three dimensions mentioned; and, on the other hand, that the impact level of some indicators in said dimensions varies in direction and intensity according to the degree of novelty of the innovation carried out.
