Currently the dynamic behavior of the local economy in the country is being largely motivated by female empowerment through entrepreneurship and innovation as a growth strategy. The objective of the article is to systematically review the literature on women in emerging contexts, viewed from empowerment, entrepreneurship and innovation. The methodological process is developed with the search for published scientific articles focused on female empowerment in the development of entrepreneurship and innovation to finally synthesize the findings. Accor ding to previous research, literature has been found to explore how female entrepreneurship contributes to economic development with high standards of innovation and respect for the environment. It is possible to show, how the participation of women in organizational processes and entrepreneurial initiatives has been addressed, and the implications that it has in the domestic and community contexts in a patriarchal order.
