Around the different economies in the world, the governments are playing a leading role in the demand for goods and services, and the MSMEs comply with the function as relevant suppliers. This can also be observed in the case of Paraguay. Despite the importance of their participation in the economy, the regional and country-related studies on public procurement and MSMEs date back almost a decade, during the first moments of the development and presentation of open data of public procurement management in Paraguay. Using as a primary source of information the various open databases which are nationally and internationally available, this study allows to present an updated descriptive analysis of the participation of companies categorized as MSMEs in public procurement in Paraguay between 2011 and 2017, presenting indicators related to amounts and quantity of procurements, number of supplier companies and their geographical scope, types of contracts, level of conveners and categories of goods and services provided.
