OLMEDO BARCHELLO, Selva. Interaction between the social economy and the creative economy as promoters of local economic development in Paraguay. Poblac.Desarro. [online]. 2017, vol.23, n.45, pp.61-73. ISSN 2076-054X.  https://doi.org/10.18004/pdfce/2076-054x/2017.023(45)061-073.

The failures of the models of economic development propitiated alternative forms of development and growth, giving rise to what is now known as social economy, in whose objective of social justice men and women are grouped to carry out activities through mutual aid and the Solidarity. In this sense, the initiatives of the creative economy, especially in the handicrafts sector, found in the initiatives of the social economy a way to develop, achieving well-being for its members and for its community. The research presents the characteristic of being of qualitative-quantitative nature, starting with a documentary bibliographical review, with a descriptive exposition of aspects that relate both concepts, as well as the results of a fieldwork in the district of Yataity-Department of Guairá. The results indicated that the departments of Paraguarí and Central are the ones with the greatest number of associations formed. As for cooperatives, those dedicated to the field of craftsmanship stand out, compared to those of footwear and communications. Finally, the forensic analysis carried out to the artisan women's associations of Yataity district, indicated that associativity is an opportunity for artisans to have access to a larger market, to credit and technical assistance.
