The present work was carried out with the objective of gathering information about the beginnings of the internet era in Paraguay and the evolution of e-commerce as well as its repercussion for the drafting and enforcement of legal provisions. The research initially covered the method of bibliographic review on issues related to the subject that allowed the search, compilation, organization and assessment of the information available to delimit the aspects to be studied. Then descriptive and explanatory to analyze the behavior of electronic commerce during the period 2011-2016 and related laws that were promulgated. It was observed that electronic commerce has dynamized the economy and that it has experienced an increase year after year from its incipient beginnings driven by the work of the professionals in the development of the sector through a greater professionalization and the incursion of new companies in the businesses by Internet.
