ABSTRACT Introduction: The neurodevelopmental care involves interventions to protect the delicate and immature central nervous system of preterm infants. Material and Methods: Observational, cross-sectional descriptive. A questionnaire was administered to 73 individuals in the nursing area with closed questions grouped into three levels in the Neonatology Service of the National Hospital Itauguá April 2008 to March 2009. Results: The population is dominated by female sex workers, the average years of service was 11 ± 5.6 years. In some of the respondents know the score came up, but not in practice and attitude, one in three people surveyed made good practice, of which 85% were nursing assistants
