Introduction:
In the digestive system, the pathology of the gallbladder and the bile duct is high frequency, one of the tools in its diagnosis that has many advantages is abdominal ultrasound.
Objective:
To analyze and compare the ultrasound and postoperative findings in cholecystectomized patients in a General Surgery Service of the Hospital de Clinicas.
Methodology:
An analytical cross-sectional observational study was carried out, through the review of clinical records of cholecystectomized patients, between January 2017 to July 2019, the data was collected in a previously prepared questionnaire.
Results:
the ages of the patients ranged from 20 to 76 years, almost 2/3 of them underwent video laparoscopic surgery, predominantly women, the ultrasound results were similar to those found in the postoperative period. A high correlation was found in the determination of the gallbladder anatomy: gallbladder size (96.97%), wall thickness (94.34%), gallbladder wall type (100%), cholecystitis type (91%).
Conclusions:
Ultrasound is the ideal imaging method for the evaluation of gallbladder and bile duct pathology.
