ABSTRACT Leishmaniasis are chronic infections caused by various species of leishmania, transmitted from animals to humans by insects phlebotomos, characterized by mucocutaneous and visceral forms. In Paraguay, mucocutaneous forms are preferably produced by L. braziliensis and visceral form by L. infantum (chagasi). We report a case of an immunocompetent adult with no ulcerated lesions on the skin, with no evidence of visceral involvement, which is determined by PCR that are produced by L. infantum.
