Abstract

Background: Non-Steroids anti-inflammatory are drug s used frequently and the intolerance plus the possibility of cross reactions among them cause therapeutics problems. The removal of rofecoxib, a selective COX2, from the market, compelled us to look for other drugs tha can provide the same security. This is the purpose of this work. Objetive: To find out the tolerance to Celecoxib in patients with intolerance to NASIDs. Methods: 56 patients with intolerance to NASIDs were selected for the study who underwent oral controlled provocation test (OCPT) following the modified Vives method with 200 mg of Celecoxib, first day placebo and 1/8 of the total (63,45 mg), the second day ¼ and ½ (126,9 mg and 253,8 mg), the third day 1 capsule (507,6 mg) with pulse and blood pressure controls. 30 healthy individuals were considered as the control group. Results: The 56 patiens under study with intolerance to NASIDs. Showed tolerance to Celecoxib. Coclusions: Celecoxib is a safe drug in patients with intolerance to NASIDs.
