Abstract

      Miasis is an infestatuin caused by fly worns, that could sette any - were in the body. Selected treatment use to be the manual fly worns extraction associated to etil chloride usage.       Ivermectin produce by the Streptomyces avermetilis, has a broad antiparasitic espectrum. It increase tonic muscle paralysis an the parasite death.       The current study incñud 83 patients, bethween 3 months and 91 years. They received ivermectin 0.2 mg/kg orally once.       Manual extraction was executed on 32 (38.5%) patients, the worn removed where up to 1500.       During the first 48 hours medical check-up, the 54 (65%) patients that attended, 14 (26%) suffered from headeche, diarrhea, stomach pain among others.       No worns where found in 10 patients. The 29 (35%) reaining patients did not attend to the medical check-up.       The conclusion is that a 0.2 mg/kg once dosage proves to be effetive, well tolerate and aftordable.
