Abstract

LEZCANO MELGAREJO, Diego Armando et al. Human Figure Drawing Test in pediatric patient victims of psychological violence: Case study. Mem. Inst. Investig. Cienc. Salud [online]. 2015, vol.13, n.3, pp.88-95. ISSN 1812-9528.  https://doi.org/10.18004/Mem.iics/1812-9528/2015.013(03)88-095.

Psychological abuse is a form of discipline used to educate but little identified yet,. The presence of emotional indicators (EIs) was analyzed, using the Human Figure Drawing Test, in children and adolescents who were victims of psychologic violence that attended the Outpatient Service of Psychiatry, and were compared with children and adolescents who attended the service too but do not suffered psychologic violence. This was a cross-sectional exploratory study with a sample of 6 patients with psychological violence (pwpv) and 6 patients without violence (PWPV) who were 5 to 16 years old. Emotional Indicators (EIs) of the Human Drawing Test of E. Koppitz were used as instrument. More EIs were found in patients with psychological violence (37 EIs in pwpv and 25 EIs in PWPS IEs) In general indicators (16 EIs in pwpv and 9 IEs in PWPV) prevailed those associated with distress, anxiety, instability, lack of emotional balance, aggressiveness, motor clumsiness and learning problems among patients with psychological violence. In specific EIs, slight difference was found predominantly in pwpv with. In EIs by missing body parts, associated with immaturity, impulsiveness, and poor internal controls, a difference of 4 in pwpv and 1 in PWPV was found. In the non-validated EIs a slight difference with a predominance in pwpv was found. In the final analysis, more EIs were observed in the group victim of psychological violence. This suggests emotional conflicts that require further investigation facing the possibility of developing a disorder later.
