Introduction: Febrile seizure is the most common seizure disorder in children, it affects between 3-5%. In Venezuela the information is scarce and void in Puerto Cabello in Carabobo state. Objective: To determine the epidemiological behavior of this disease in the area. Materials and Methods: A descriptive and retrospective study based on the review of data from clinical records. The sample was composed of 247 children, 60.1% of male and 39.9% female. Results: In most of them medical history, of the 64 children with a history of prematurity predominated (45.3%), as a cause of febrile seizure highlights the viral infection (40.7%), reported the simple febrile crisis He presented in 81% of cases; and 56.6% received anticonvulsant therapy for the crisis but stopped maintenance treatment. Conclusion: The febrile seizure group has studied epidemiological behavior similar to that reported for the Latin American population in particular and the world in general and this report represents the first research on febrile seizures in Puerto Cabello in Carabobo state, Venezuela is to source valuable information for the proper implementation of health programs as Venezuelan contribution to world literature.
