Resumo RAMOS, Liliana, DI MARTINO, Beatriz, LEZCANO, Liz et al. Presentación de un caso de liquen plano infantil generalizado. Pediatr. (Asunción), 2008, vol.35, no.1, p.29-32. ISSN 1683-9803. Lichen planus is a self-limited subacute or chronic inflammatory dermatosis of unknown etiology that affects the skin, mucosa, and skin appendages (hair and nails). It is a relatively common condition in adults, but extremely rare in children, with a prevalence in the general population of less than 1%. The childhood form is similar to the adult form, but the affect on the mucosa is exceptional. Genetic, immunological, pharmaceutical factors and infection can all influence the course of the disease. We report the case of a child with disseminated cutaneous lichen planus lesions. Treatment was triamcinolone topical at 0.05%, along with chlorpheniramine and dexamethasone, whereupon the lesions disappeared in 3 weeks.
