Abstract
SANABRIA ZOTELO, Mirna Estela and MARTINEZ RIVAS, David Andrés. The seed capital and academia in the sustainability of the business of women entrepreneurs beneficiaries of the REEMUJER/MIC program. Rev. Soc. cient. Parag. [online]. 2024, vol.29, n.2, pp.43-55. ISSN 2617-4731. https://doi.org/10.32480/rscp.2024.29.2.4355.
This study analyzed the influence of seed capital and academia on the business sustainability of women entrepreneurs who are beneficiaries of the REEMUJERPY/MIC Program in Itapúa, Paraguay. The methodology employed is mixed, descriptive, and cross-sectional, based on surveys of 78 out of 112 program beneficiaries and an interview with a representative from the university’s Center for Entrepreneurial Support. The findings indicate that most entrepreneurs are from urban areas, have higher education, and are motivated by economic independence. Despite positively assessing their management skills, they face challenges in organization and financial management. Although the university provides training, the need to extend its duration and offer personalized advice is highlighted. Entrepreneurs emphasize the need for improvement in marketing, accounting, technology, and innovation. While the financial management of seed capital is deemed adequate, opportunities for improving monitoring and reporting are recognized. The program has been beneficial for entrepreneurs in Itapúa, but it is recommended to optimize the duration of the training, provide personalized advice, strengthen financial management, and promote network creation.
