Methodology:

An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional design was applied. The study population consisted in males and females over the age of 18 who attended the center between March and August 2022. Convenience sampling was performed. Demographic variables were registered. Satisfaction and quality of life were measured with the Baker and EQ-5D questionnaires respectively. All patients gave their consent to fill out the surveys. The research was approved by the Ethics Committee of the Universidad Nacional del Itapúa.

Results:

187 patients were surveyed, with a mean age of 40 ± 17 years. The sample was characterized by the predominance of female subjects (70.6%), married or cohabiting marital status (72.2%), with primary schooling (50.3%), and with their own source of income (57.2%). Satisfaction with care was detected in 84 subjects (44.9%). Quality of life was good in 138 patients (73.8%). The proportion of subjects with fair or poor quality of life had higher dissatisfaction with care.

Conclusions:

Among the users of the Family Health Unit, a 44.9% satisfaction with care and 73.8% good quality of life were detected. Fair or poor quality of life was more frequent in subjects with dissatisfaction with care. Studies are recommended to evaluate the causes of this relationship.
