The appropriate dosimetric indicator of the radiation dose received by patients in mammography exams is the Average Glandular Dose (PGD). The objective of the study is to estimate the clinical DGP using the parametric equations of Matsumoto et. al. (2003) and to determine the degree of accuracy compared with the estimates of Dance et al (2000). For this, data of kVp, mAs, thickness of compressed breast, age and anode / filter combination of 50 patients who underwent conventional mammography examinations were collected. These factors were introduced in the parametric equations to estimate the doses. The results were compared with the curves proposed by Dance, where it is observed that the values estimated in this work are below the acceptable limits. With these results we can infer that the Matsumoto equations are viable to estimate DGP imparted by mammographers using a Mo / Mo anode / filter combination.
