The study aimed to establish the association of internet use and anxiety. The design was descriptive - correlational, cross - sectional. The population was 1150 Institution. We opted for a purposive sampling of 592 subjects (193 men, 399 women). Instruments: Brítez's use and access to tics survey (2014 adaptation), IAT Internet Addiction test, Spanish version of Puerta-Cortés, Carbonell and Chamarro (2012), State Anxiety Inventory - Spielberger and Diaz-Guerrero IDARE Trait, (2002). Statistical program SPSS version 22 (test phase) was used. Results: the use of internet and anxiety state - trait are not related IAT / A-E ρ = -0,09 sig. .01, IAT / A-R ρ = 0.25 sig. .00. We found differences by sex in A-R t = 2.51 gl = 590 sig. .01 women = 49.35 σ = 7.35 men adolescents enrolled, of both sexes, students of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of Middle Education, morning and afternoon shift, various emphases, of a State Educational = 47.77 σ = 6.75, with highest score in women, but not in A-E t = 1.74 gl = 590 sig. .08 women = 57.89 σ = 8.89 men = 56.59 σ = 7.47 and internet use t = 2,51gl = 590 sig. .01 women = 49.35 σ = 7.35 men = 47.77 σ = 6.75. The prevalence of frequent problems due to internet in the sample was 32.6%, the highest number of cases experienced an average level of state - trait anxiety.
