MENDONCA FLORES, Silvia Amélia y MENDES VIEIRA, Kelmara. Behavioral Determinants of Propensity to Indebtedness: Gender Influence Analysis. Rev. Int. Investig. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2016, vol.12, n.2, pp.175-190. ISSN 2226-4000. https://doi.org/10.18004/riics.2016.diciembre.175-190.
ABSTRACT: This study examined the behavioral determinants of propensity to indebtedness, evaluating the differences in gender. According to literature, men and women differ in their decisions, and these aspects are influenced by psychological and behavioral issues. To understand the propensity to indebtedness, it was used the model of Flores and Vieira (2014), which conducted a survey in the city of Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In order to evaluate the effects of gender on the integrated model, was applied the multi-group invariance analysis. The results showed that men tend to have higher levels of emotions, risk behavior and give more value to money.
