Abstract

PARI-BEDOYA, Ilda Nadia Monica de la Asunción; VARGAS-MURILLO, Alfonso Renato  and  HUANCA-AROHUANCA, Jesús Wiliam. Exploiteds or auto-exploited?: on the self-exploitation concept in the society of the yield of Byung-Chul Han. Rev. Int. Investig. Cienc. Soc. [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.2, pp.433-448. ISSN 2226-4000.  https://doi.org/10.18004/riics.2021.diciembre.433.

For the South Korean philosopher Byung-Chul Han, author of The Burnout Society, the error of using categories that do not correspond to the current society or that are in decline persists, for which reason he proposes the name "society of the performance". In this essay, we will conceptually study the phenomenon of self-exploitation as a symptom of the performance society in Byung-Chul Han's proposal with the aim of critically analyzing it, identifying its possibilities and problematic aspects when explaining the situation of labor exploitation in the XXI century.

Keywords : Self-exploitation; performance society; labour.
