Journal investigaciones y estudios - UNA is an oficcial publication of the Dirección General de Investigaciones Científicas y Tecnológicas de la Universidad Nacional de Asunción, it is multidisciplinary in nature and is published biannually (January-June and July-December). Available in print format since  2006 until 2017. Since june 2020, it is published exclusively in digital format publishes articles in Spanish, English or Portugués.

Was first edited and published in the first semester of 2006, with the purpose of disseminating scientific and technological knowledge through original results derived from scientific research funded by the Rectorate.  The journal does not charge authors for the submission, acceptance, or publication of manuscripts; they are not subject to any cost. The journal accepts pre-published or pre-printed articles (preprint) on servers with this methodology.
