 EXAMPLES

Quotes

• Bibliographic citations with less than 40 words

When the citation has less than 40 words, it is written immersed in the text and between quotation marks. The full stop is written after finishing the quote and all the data.

Example

Effective teams can be difficult to describe because "high performance in one domain does not translate to high performance in another" (Ervin et al., 2018, p. 470).

• Bibliographic citations with more than 40 words

Quotations containing more than 40 words should be written separately from the text indented at 1.27. At the end of the quotation, the point is placed before moving to a new line. Similarly, the organization of the data can vary according to where you put the emphasis.

Example 1

Machiavelli (2011) in his work The Prince states the following:

Men, when they have a good from whom they thought they had an evil, are more obliged to their benefactor, the people quickly become more benevolent with him than if he had led him to the principality with his favors (p. 23).

Example 2

It is easier for the prince not to oppress the people and to rule for them, because:

Men, when they have a good from whom they thought they had an evil, are more obliged to their benefactor, the people quickly become more benevolent with him than if he had led him to the principality with his favors (Machiavelli, 2011, p. 23).

• Paraphrase

Paraphrase a quote means configuring the way in which the statement has been presented without altering its meaning, that is, it reformulates another person's idea in our own words. Paraphrasing summarizes and synthesizes information from one or more sources, focusing on significant information and comparing relevant details.

Example 1

Campos (2016) considers these three concepts as necessary competencies for statistical education, and adds an additional competency that he calls critical competency for the formation of Critical Statistical Education.

Example 2

The clear definition of the skills that must be acquired in a doctoral training process is of vital importance, given the demands of the 21st century for universities, where the emphasis is no longer on undergraduate training but on first-rate research, which would be the identity element of these institutions (Nebot, 2009).

Digital Preservation Policy

The Recovery Plan (DRP) for computing and communications services is the primary responsibility of the IT Directorate of the Pacific University; however, it is the Infrastructure & Services area that is responsible for its development, maintenance and execution. The Infrastructure & Services area is responsible for the following activities:

• Give continuity IT services to the UP in the event of a major or catastrophic contingency situation.

• Provide an organized approach to managing response and recovery activities after an unplanned incident or prolonged service interruption, in order to avoid confusion and reduce the probability of error.

• Offer timely and appropriate responses to any unplanned incidents, thus reducing the effect of a service interruption.

Backup and Recovery Procedures

• Data Backup: The OJS information is backed up on a daily basis, incremental and differential, whose backup allows access to all modified or deleted information. The minimum storage time to the history is 1 (one) year.

• Data Recovery: In case of equipment drop due to damage, breakdown or other incident, there is a backup server that has the same configuration of the downed service, which allows the equipment with failures to be replaced. A system is contemplated to synchronize the data from the backup server to another backup server.
